Frequently Asked Questions about Haven Waters Motel & Apartments

We understand that guests may have questions while reserving one of our rooms at Haven Waters Motel & Apartments, so we’ve arranged some answers to the most common questions we receive.

Bookings, Cancellations & Payment

Refer to your booking confirmation letter for the cancellation policy that applies to your booking. Generally, cancellation requests must be received at least 24 hours prior to check-in (2pm) during off-peak periods, or 14 days prior to check-in for peak periods otherwise the first night’s tariff will be charged as a cancellation fee. If unsure, please contact Haven Waters.

If you have booked through a third party (i.e. booking.com, Expedia, wotif, lastminute, hotels.com, etc), you need to contact them to cancel your booking.

Generally, no, unless there is a special event or group booking which requires a deposit to make the booking. This will be stipulated in the terms and conditions of the booking.

Yes and No. You do need a credit card to make a booking, however if you do not have one we require the first nights’ fee forwarded to us either by direct deposit or post within seven days of the booking being made. If we do not receive the deposit within seven days, the booking will be cancelled.

We take full payment on arrival. We accept Mastercard, Visa, AMEX, cash, cheque and bank transfer. If paying by cheque or bank transfer, the payment must be cleared prior to check-in.  Note that 2.75% surcharge applies for AMEX.

Guests can request a specific room however we cannot guarantee that you will receive the room requested. We take bookings for room types and whether we can supply a specific room depends on several factors, such as availability and accommodating other bookings.

No, our policy is no refund for early departure.

Motel Facilities & Parking

There is Wi-Fi coverage throughout the entire property. To ensure there is adequate speed shared between all guests we control the speed so that each guest can perform all browsing tasks, Youtube and Skype but it is generally not fast enough for Netflix.

Yes. There is a gas BBQ, “camp kitchen”, tables, seating and lounges that can fit large groups.

Yes. The pool is next to the BBQ area with sun lounges and umbrellas. Pool towels are supplied.

Yes. There is a coin-operated washer and dryer. Washing powder, clotheslines and pegs are provided.

Yes & No. A daily service is offered in all motel rooms including our Riverview King Room. Servicing is offered until midday. Our apartments, however, are self-catered and therefore there is no daily servicing. We will replace towels as required but we do not enter the apartment. Stays of six nights or more are offered a full service with linen change mid-stay.

Each room has one parking space assigned, which is located off-street and in front of the room. You do not need to reserve parking.

Please give us a call to make arrangements for additional vehicles and large vehicles/trailers. There is some limited space for these vehicles however, this cannot be guaranteed.

Room Facilities

Yes we do – 3x sports channels, Lifestyle, Disney and movie channels.

We have 1- & 2-bedroom apartments with full kitchens, which include stove, oven, fridge, microwave, pots & pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery and glassware. All motel rooms have a kitchenette.

Our kitchenettes have a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. There is crockery, cutlery and glassware for the maximum number occupants.

No – all linen and towelling are supplied.

Yes, all rooms contain a hairdryer.

Yes, all rooms have reverse-cycle split system air conditioning.

Food & Drink

We have a breakfast delivery service with a nearby cafe (Brew Haven Cafe).  You can order breakfast with us the night before and it will be delivered to your room.  Alternatively, there are many cafes within walking distance.

No. There are several restaurants within walking distance and many others within 5 minutes’ drive.

Club North Haven (bowling club) is just around the corner, 150m away. All guests of Haven Waters receive members discount by showing their room key at the bar and bistro.

No. There is a takeaway shop and bottle shop 1-mintue drive away.

No. NSW Fire Safety Regulations prohibit cooking in motel rooms. Guests are welcome to cook in the pool area. We have fully self-contained apartments in which cooking is permitted.

Location

Port Macquarie is a half hour drive away. You can take Ocean Drive (the coast road) or the Pacific Hwy.

There is an airport at Port Macquarie, train station at Kendall and a bus stop 100m from the motel. The local taxi service can pick up and drop off at each of these.

North Haven Beach is a 3-minute drive or 20-minute walk along the River Walk path.

Others

No, pets are not allowed, including in guest’s cars.

No, smoking is prohibited in and/or near rooms, this includes the upstairs terrace. There are designated smoking areas in the front lawn and at the back of the pool area.

Check-in is from 2pm until 8:30pm when our office closes. If you need to check-in outside office hours you must make alternative arrangements with us prior.
Check-out is by 10am. We do not offer late check-out.

All rooms are ground floor except for the King Room and Riverview King Room which are on the second level (access via stairs).

The Riverview King Room has views of the river and mountain. All other rooms look out onto our lawns, gardens and pool area.
