Down They Come - Monday February 13, 2012;
The removal of all but two cocas palms from Haven Waters has been completed. These exotic weeds have been a continual nuisance to guests and management alike since they reached maturity. Falling flowers, fruit and fronds have been a menace. The daily ritual of guests cleaning lorikeet and bat poop from their cars is now a thing of the past. The grounds will now be a lot safer and cleaner. Local bangalow palms will be planted in 'stands' to give that sub-tropical feel.
Caring For The Environment - Saturday October 15, 2011;
Quality water saving shower heads have been installed to all rooms and suites. Delivering only 7.6 lt/minute these showers heads feel like your under a monsoonal downpour.
Upgrades at Haven Waters continue - Tuesday August 30, 2011:
All of our motel rooms and suites have been fitted with HD ready LCD flat screen TVs. The fourteen motel rooms have had 66 cm TVs installed while the four one bedroom suites have had 80 cm teles installed. In the three two bedroom suites we have installed 101 cm TVs. We have purchased new 245 litre fridges for all of the suites as well. In early June new mattresses were installed into all of the suites, matching the motel rooms which were upgraded in August 2010.
We have plenty more upgrades planned over the next 12-18 months, so watch this space for further news.
Camden Haven Courier - Wednesday May 25, 2011:
North Haven Bowling and Recreation Club are proud to announce that they have recently appointed new managers of their motel at North Haven. The new managers of the Haven Waters Motel and Suites are Ron & Jo Payne. Ron and Jo, who hail from the Newcastle suburb of Stockton, have had previous accommodation experience in the Grampians region of Victoria and are keen to continue the high standard expected at Haven Waters. They look forward to meeting the locals, when the opportunity arises.
Prior to entering the accommodation industry Ron had spent close to eighteen years in the Club and Pub game, managing Club’s at Tanilba Bay and Stockton, and then the Boatrowers Hotel. Jo has had over twenty years experience managing fashion outlets for names such as Sports Girl, Table Eight and Country Road. They believe they work well together as a team and will concentrate on expanding Haven Water’s exposure on the internet and eventually look at introducing package deals to entice new guests to the area.
Ron and Jo have already introduced a recycling programme and have commenced planting of a herb patch and fruit forest for use in the kitchen and for guests. They are also looking into water saving shower heads and conducting a full energy audit of the property. While not ‘Greenies’ they believe in treading ‘lightly’, besides conserving power and water use makes good economic sense.
Ron & Jo both look forward to working with Club manager Peter Negus and the Board of Directors to help take Haven Waters Motel and Suites to the next level.
